Dr. Lancelot Pinto

Visiting Senior Fellow

Dr. Lancelot Pinto is a Visiting Senior Fellow at Artha Global. He is a Consultant Pulmonologist at the P.D.Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre. He has ongoing collaborations with McGill University, IIT, IIS, TISS, and SNDT university. He has collaborated with the University of Cape Town, consulted for the World Health Organization and USAID. He is a clinician who has a keen interest in knowledge translation and the practice of evidence-based medicine. Working at a tertiary care hospital, his clinical practice includes the management of severe respiratory diseases, both acute and chronic. His areas of interest include the management of drug-resistant tuberculosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and obstructive sleep apnea. He is a proponent of preventive respiratory care – smoking cessation, focusing on air quality/ventilation, and strategies to improve respiratory health have been key focus areas.

Lancelot received his undergraduate degree in medicine from the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Mumbai. He completed his postgraduate training in respiratory medicine at the P.D.Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Mumbai. He holds a masters degree in Epidemiology and has clinical fellowships in Sleep Medicine and COPD from McGill University, Montreal. He is certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG, USA), and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
