News consumption patterns are evolving significantly with an increase in smartphone and internet penetration, alongside the growing prominence of social media platforms as channels of information dissemination. It is crucial to examine these trends, especially to understand how people vote.

In the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Centre for Rapid Insights conducted a large survey spanning 421 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) in India to gather insights on people’s primary source of news. This survey was conducted in the respective local languages, covering 15 states and 1 Union Territory.
