The CRI Survey survey aims to explore the rapid urbanisation in Tamil Nadu and understand the provision of common goods and commuting patterns in Tamil Nadu’s urban areas, utilising data from an Interactive Voice Response (IVR)-based survey with over 8,000 participants. The study addresses significant data gaps in existing administrative and public datasets, providing fresh perspectives on the socio-economic dynamics at play in urban settings.
The report highlights the challenges related to grievance redressal for common goods provision, with an emphasis on the inequalities in access to basic services, and the role of political networks in influencing state responsiveness.
