With heat-induced illnesses and deaths rising sharply, it is critical to understand state-wise trends and identify communities that are particularly susceptible. An understanding of such aspects can feed into crafting more targeted and effective strategies to cope with heatwaves.
The Centre for Rapid Insights (CRI) conducted a large-scale pan-India survey to better understand the impact of the heat wave on health. The surveys were conducted in over ten local languages, covering around 14000 people across 18 states and 2 Union Territories.
