Amit Bubna

Former Visiting Fellow

Dr. Amit Bubna is a Former Visiting Fellow at IDFC Institute. He obtained his bachelors and masters degrees in Economics from Presidency College, Kolkata, and Cambridge University, U.K, and graduated from Stanford University with a PhD in Economics. He has taught economics and finance courses at a number of institutions, including the University of Maryland, College Park, Indian School of Business (ISB), the Wharton School, and the University of California at Berkeley. His research interests include microeconomic theory, with applications in areas such as microfinance, venture capital, IPOs, and consumer credit cards. His research has been published in top-tier journals, such as the Journal of Financial Intermediation and Review of Finance. Prior to academia, he was a Senior Managing Economist at LECG, Inc, a leading economic consulting services firm that provides complex economic and financial analysis. In his consulting capacity at LECG, he worked on a number of projects, including telecom spectrum auctions, anti-trust matters, copyright infringement, and damages in litigation. He has provided consulting services on economic issues in a wide variety of industries, including financial institutions, retail tracking services, and pharmaceuticals.
